# Universe Alternatives for Events and Timed-Entry Ticketing

Gomry gives organizers a way to sell recurring participation alongside public-event admission. Customers can prepay for selected activities and reserve future sessions using their credit, while the team retains purchase and attendance history. This is its role in a Universe alternatives comparison.

A visitor can buy a ticket to a public event and later purchase a pack for regular workshops. The pack covers eligible sessions rather than general entry at any time. Each redemption reserves actual capacity. Timed-entry ticketing answers a different question about when a visitor may arrive. Attractions replacing Universe should compare that admission process as well as the repeat-activity program.

SimpleTix includes offline scanning and payment/POS connections for the visitor operation. TicketSpice supports timed entry, seating and configurable checkout questions.

## Which alternative fits your business?

| Your main requirement | Start with |
| --- | --- |
| A recurring activity offer with prepaid participation and public events | **Gomry** |
| The attraction’s counter sales and mobile validation are central | SimpleTix |
| Ticket selection drives conditional questions, waivers or other checkout requirements | TicketSpice |

## Separate ticketing from the value of discovery

Universe alternatives include platforms for selling admission and products that also provide a consumer event destination. A venue should distinguish those roles. Existing customers may arrive through the organizer’s own channels, while other buyers discover the event elsewhere. Understanding that difference helps compare a direct sales setup with a broader event platform.

### What Universe already covers

Universe distinguishes regular events from timed-entry events. Its timed-entry product manages dates and multiple entry times within one listing, for uses such as exhibits, classes and tours. The help center also documents changes to capacity and ticket settings by timeslot.

### How prepaid visits work

- **Eligibility:** The business selects one Experience or a pool. The balance is shared across those eligible Experiences.
- **Reservation:** The customer chooses a session and redeems credit during checkout. The reservation consumes actual capacity.
- **Terms:** The business can define expiry and the ticket tier used for redemption.
- **Changes:** Existing buyers retain their purchased terms. Stopping new sales does not remove their remaining credit.
- **Sales:** Bundles can be sold online or through Gomry POS. Credits apply to Experiences rather than one-off Events.

Bundle credit applies to Experiences, not one-off Events. An Event ticket and a pack of future visits therefore remain separate purchases.

## Other alternatives on the shortlist

### Eventbrite

Eventbrite combines event ticket sales with public discovery, promotion and organizer check-in tools. It also supports recurring event schedules. A move therefore has two parts: retaining the event’s purchase and admission workflow, and deciding how attendees will find it.

### TicketLeap

TicketLeap documents timed entry, recurring schedules, seating plans and a cart that can include tickets from several events by the same organizer. Checkout questions and waivers collect information before purchase; its apps support scanning and door sales.

### Ticket Tailor

Ticket Tailor supports recurring occurrences, seating, bundles and memberships, and publishes organizer MCP tools. Its ticketing features make it relevant to both individual events and a recurring program.

### Humanitix

Humanitix combines ticketing with reserved seating, waiting lists, checkout questions and scanning. It directs profits to charity.

### bookingkit

bookingkit describes booking calendars, resource management, channel management and centralized operations for attractions. Its offering also includes webshop, POS and turnstile-related integrations.

### Fienta

Fienta documents event ticketing, a website event schedule and integrations, including a REST API with organizer keys and webhooks for orders, registrations and ticket validation. These interfaces matter when event data needs to reach another system. Distinguish an incoming notification about a completed order from an external application being able to perform a purchase or change a booking: those are separate integration capabilities.

## Does every Universe listing have the same scheduling features?

Universe distinguishes regular events from timed-entry events. Its timed-entry help describes managing multiple dates and timeslots; some settings also depend on the plan. The comparison should use the actual event type being replaced, rather than assume a capability documented for one type applies to every listing.

## Moving from Universe: costs and existing purchases

Retain the selected timeslot and ticket conditions for existing Universe orders. A schedule change affects already sold admission, not just the public calendar. Compare the required event type and plan, then include counter sales and payment costs if they are part of the replacement. Do not price a basic listing as the full timed-entry setup.

Published Gomry terms are available on the [pricing page](/pricing).
