How Gomry Connects Your U.S. Payout Account Through Plaid

Connect your U.S. payout account in Gomry with Plaid, receive proceeds through Wise and understand what happens when you change the bank destination.

For a U.S. organization receiving its proceeds from Gomry, Plaid connects the bank account and verifies the account details. Wise handles the payout to that account. You set up the destination in Gomry’s dashboard; you do not need to open or manage a personal Stripe account to receive your Gomry payouts.

Connecting the account does not move the money. Your Event’s funds must first clear the applicable hold period and become available to withdraw. You can then request a payout with Move money, and Wise sends it to the destination you have set.

Connect the account in Gomry

Complete your Tax Details in the dashboard, then open Settings → Payments to set up the bank account. Gomry uses Plaid for instant bank linking for U.S. organizations. The connection supplies the account and routing details needed for the payout; organizations in other countries use their applicable manual or banking setup instead.

An Admin or a role with the relevant financial permissions can view or change these settings. Aven can confirm whether an account is set by reading its last four digits and direct you to the settings page. It cannot change your bank details in chat.

The selected account is the payout destination, not a new customer payment method. Setting it up does not change what guests pay or remove the hold period on Event proceeds.

Plaid’s bank-linking technology retrieves the permitted account information. Its public documentation distinguishes account and routing data from the payment service that moves money. In Gomry’s payout flow, that payment provider is Wise, not Stripe Connect.

Wise routes transfers through banking networks, including ACH in the U.S., SEPA in Europe and SWIFT where applicable. The route depends on the destination and currency. A successful bank connection identifies where the payout should go; it does not confirm that a transfer has been sent or credited by the bank.

Gomry’s pricing page and business terms cover the applicable fees and payout stages. Account setup, available balance, a requested payout and bank receipt are separate states.

What happens to the account details and login

Payout setup involves tax information and bank account and routing details. The financial details are handled through the providers’ secure vaults rather than stored in plain text by Gomry. The dashboard and Aven show only the last four digits for recognition, so an authorized organizer can confirm the destination without exposing the full number in chat.

Your bank login is different from those account details. With an OAuth connection, you sign in with your bank and it returns data to Plaid; Plaid says it does not access or store the login credentials in that flow. Other connections involve providing credentials to Plaid, which says it stores and uses them to retrieve the data needed for the chosen services.

Plaid says it does not share login credentials with connected apps. That does not mean no account information is shared: Gomry’s payout setup needs the destination details, and Wise needs the information required to route the transfer. The account and permissions presented during connection define what you authorize.

Plaid describes encryption and continuous monitoring among its protections. These are Plaid’s controls, not a certification of Gomry or a guarantee that every payout will arrive without delay.

Change the destination before requesting another payout

You can update your bank details in Dashboard → Settings → Payments. A payout already requested stays directed to the account that was active at the time of the request. Changing the saved account afterward does not redirect that transfer.

If the receiving account is closed and the bank rejects the transfer, the money returns through Wise. If the returned funds are not available in your Gomry balance, ask Aven to contact Gomry Support. A human operator checks the return from Wise and restores the funds to the organization’s balance for a new attempt to the updated account. Changing the saved destination alone does not recover or resend a rejected transfer.

A failed bank connection is a different problem: there may be no transfer in progress. Plaid’s connection help covers bank-selection and authentication issues. Aven can direct you to Gomry Support when you need help with the payout setup or a transfer already requested.

Disconnecting and deleting data are separate actions

Plaid Portal lets you review and disconnect supported app connections. Disconnecting stops future data sharing through that connection; it does not delete information an app has already received. To change the saved payout destination, use Gomry’s payment settings. Certain information from newer Plaid experiences may need to be managed through its privacy request form or email rather than Portal.

Plaid also states that Portal deletion does not end an existing payment authorization. Use Gomry’s payment settings to manage your destination and Gomry Support for a payout in progress, rather than treating a Plaid privacy action as a way to recall the transfer.
