Social Dance Studio Software: Courses and Friday-Night Entry

Social dance studios live on repeat attendance across classes, parties and workshops. What the software has to connect and how Gomry does it.

A student can attend a weekly course, buy a pass and join Friday's social. The studio needs to distinguish the bookings and any admission included with the course.

Build the software comparison around that customer journey, including a cancelled class and a guest arriving at the social.

The pattern

A beginner takes a course. She comes to the social because her class is there. She buys a package, then a membership when she is coming three times a week. She books a private before a performance, and she pays a deposit for the weekender. At every step the studio should know who she is and what she has already bought.

What the software has to do

  • Run weekly classes by level with a headcount and a waitlist.
  • Sell packages and memberships that work across classes and socials.
  • Sell social tickets with presale and door pricing, and check people in fast at 10pm.
  • Handle a visiting teacher's workshop as its own ticketed event.
  • Sell privates and calculate the instructor's cut.
  • Take a deposit and a balance for trips.
  • Message a level, a list or everyone, on WhatsApp, without exporting a spreadsheet.
  • Show instructors their roster and nothing else.

Connect the records without assuming shared entitlements

Gomry Experiences provide scheduled classes with capacity. Bundles provide prepaid credits for selected Experiences; they do not apply to one-off Events. Use Events for ticketed socials and workshops, then define how any combined offer will be supplied.

Subscriptions provide recurring billing. Demonstrate free social entry or member pricing separately before promising either. At the door, test the actual ticket and information visible to the staff role.

For invitation lists, verify the available filters against the intended group. A condition combining class level, credits and recent social attendance should not be described as supported until it is configured and checked.

Keep conversation in the community's existing channel where it works. The dance studio guide covers children's programmes and guardian requirements; the bachata guide adds course levels and trips.

Tap to Pay is in private beta. Confirm beta access before including phone-based card payments in the door plan.

Questions studios ask

Can one membership include classes and socials? Demonstrate class access and social admission separately before selling a combined plan.

What should instructors see? Define the information instructors need and test the actual role. Use available controls rather than assuming a particular permission split.

Can we keep WhatsApp for the community? Keep it for the conversation. Payments, schedules and consent live in Gomry, and the broadcast goes out from there so it reaches the right level.

Test one course purchase that includes a social. Give the resulting records to a door volunteer and verify how they identify the included admission.
