TicketSource Alternatives for Venues and Reserved Seating

Compare TicketSource alternatives for seating plans, ticket sales and venue programs, including Gomry, TicketLeap, Ticket Tailor and Humanitix.

Gomry supports venues running performances and participatory sessions for the same audience. It combines separately ticketed events with bookable activities and prepaid visits, retaining customer history across those purchases. That is a useful reason to consider it alongside TicketSource.

A theatre can sell admission to a public performance and a separate pack for selected drama workshops. Workshop customers choose future sessions using their balance, subject to available places. The performance retains its own ticket and seating requirements. Keeping these purchases distinct explains what a customer is entitled to attend. The ticketing comparison should still cover the venue’s reserved-seat and box-office operation.

TicketLeap includes seating plans, ticket scanning and door sales. Ticket Tailor supports recurring event occurrences and organizer integrations.

Treat the seating plan as part of the order

TicketSource alternatives should preserve the connection between a seat selected online and the ticket used at the venue. The team also needs appropriate access to sales and admission work. For a theatre or community venue, a comparison that only lists payment methods misses the relationship between seating, existing orders and the people operating the box office.

What TicketSource already covers

TicketSource documents a branded ticket shop, a drag-and-drop seating-plan tool and permissions for team members.

How prepaid visits work

  • Eligibility: The business selects one Experience or a pool. The balance is shared across those eligible Experiences.
  • Reservation: The customer chooses a session and redeems credit during checkout. The reservation consumes actual capacity.
  • Terms: The business can define expiry and the ticket tier used for redemption.
  • Changes: Existing buyers retain their purchased terms. Stopping new sales does not remove their remaining credit.
  • Sales: Bundles can be sold online or through Gomry POS. Credits apply to Experiences rather than one-off Events.

Bundle credit applies to Experiences, not one-off Events. An Event ticket and a pack of future visits therefore remain separate purchases.

Other alternatives on the shortlist

Humanitix

Humanitix combines ticketing with reserved seating, waiting lists, checkout questions and scanning. It directs profits to charity.

Eventbrite

Eventbrite combines event ticket sales with public discovery, promotion and organizer check-in tools. It also supports recurring event schedules. A move therefore has two parts: retaining the event’s purchase and admission workflow, and deciding how attendees will find it.

TicketSpice

TicketSpice documents customizable ticket pages, seating layouts, timed-entry sales, conditional questions and digital waivers. It is relevant when the purchase needs to collect different information or offer different options depending on the ticket. For an attraction, selecting a time is only part of the workflow; the resulting ticket, participant details and entrance validation must agree about what was purchased.

SimpleTix

SimpleTix documents online ticketing, mobile ticket validation including offline scanning, and in-person sales with Square or Stripe. It also lists other payment-provider integrations.

Universe

Universe distinguishes regular events from timed-entry events. Its timed-entry product manages dates and multiple entry times within one listing, for uses such as exhibits, classes and tours. The help center also documents changes to capacity and ticket settings by timeslot.

Fienta

Fienta documents event ticketing, a website event schedule and integrations, including a REST API with organizer keys and webhooks for orders, registrations and ticket validation. These interfaces matter when event data needs to reach another system. Distinguish an incoming notification about a completed order from an external application being able to perform a purchase or change a booking: those are separate integration capabilities.

What must survive when a seated event changes systems?

The link between the issued ticket and the seat purchased must remain clear. Existing tickets also need a defined validation process. Gomry supports Event seating maps and scanning, but a new map does not automatically migrate old seat assignments or make previously issued credentials valid in a different scanner.

Moving from TicketSource: costs and existing purchases

Before switching a seated event, keep the seat assignment connected to every existing order. Define how those tickets will be validated and how a seat change is recorded during transition. Include staff access and box-office equipment in the cost, as well as the charge associated with online ticket sales.
