Pilates software should explain what the customer is reserving and protect the studio’s available teaching capacity. A reformer class, a private session and a pack covering selected classes are related offers, but they do not consume the same resources. Gomry is relevant for studios selling scheduled group participation and prepaid visits alongside separately ticketed workshops.
For a class-led studio, compare that purchase model with Momence, TeamUp and bsport. Mindbody brings broader studio tools and consumer discovery; Mariana Tek and Hapana address management across locations. Acuity is relevant when private appointments dominate. The correct shortlist depends on whether the business is managing places in a class, an instructor’s private time or policies across a studio brand.
Compare the options
| Software | Main reason to consider it | Important distinction |
|---|---|---|
| Gomry | Group sessions, pooled visit credits and special events | Session capacity does not prove individual machine or room allocation. |
| Momence | Classes, appointments and enrollment restrictions | Demonstrate the difference between group and private reservations. |
| bsport | Boutique studio plans and instructor administration | Substitutions, payroll and customer purchases need separate review. |
| TeamUp | Class memberships with private coaching | Check which plan covers each type of session. |
| Mindbody | Studio operations and discovery | Price the staff and consumer-facing configuration actually needed. |
| Mariana Tek | Headquarters controls across studios | Central permissions matter independently of the booking interface. |
| Hapana | Multi-location schedules, memberships and pricing | Define which policies a local manager may change. |
| Acuity Scheduling | Private appointments alongside some group classes | A practitioner’s calendar is different from class capacity. |
| Vagaro | Fitness classes and wider wellness appointments | Consider shared staff and space across service types. |
| WellnessLiving | Client records and front-desk administration | Confirm the forms and staff functions needed for private clients. |
| Glofox | Member billing and branded-app access | Recurring renewals differ from finite visit packs. |
| Walla | Studio plans and retention workflows | Identify the follow-up process staff will actually use. |
| Arketa | Live Pilates and recorded teaching | Include paid content delivery if clients buy videos. |
| fitDEGREE | Class scheduling and customer community | Social features serve a different need from resource availability. |
| Eversports Manager | Bookings with consumer marketplace discovery | Separate direct clients from externally acquired bookings. |
| ClassPass | A separate marketplace acquisition route | ClassPass does not replace the studio’s direct operating system. |
Start with the reformer, instructor and room
A group class may have eight places because eight machines are available. That number is a capacity rule. A private session may need a specific instructor and a room at the same time. If both services share equipment, the software or operating process must prevent the same resource from being promised twice.
Do not infer resource allocation from a feature named “capacity.” During evaluation, book the final group place and then try to reserve a conflicting private session. The result should reflect the studio’s actual staffing and room arrangement. If the provider cannot demonstrate it, retain an explicit process for that conflict rather than relying on a calendar that only looks full.
Packs, private credits and membership allowances
A mat class and a reformer private may have different prices and eligibility. A shared balance only makes sense when the studio deliberately includes those offers. Specify whether a pack can be used across class types, whether a private requires its own purchase and whether the allowance expires or renews.
For recurring plans, show a failed renewal and the resulting booking rights. For prepaid packs, show the remaining balance after a cancellation. These are different customer obligations and should appear separately in the proposal.
Gomry for a group Pilates program
Gomry Experiences provides scheduled slots, capacity and host assignment. The studio can define a Bundle for one Experience or a selected pool. Customers buy credit first and reserve eligible sessions later. A reservation consumes actual capacity; an unused pack does not occupy reformers on future dates.
A teacher-training talk or public workshop can use a separate Event ticket. Purchase and attendance history in Contacts gives the team context across the customer’s regular sessions and occasional events. Pack eligibility, expiry and purchased terms remain explicit.
This describes group participation. It does not establish individual reformer allocation, a private-room calendar or appointment conflict management. Gomry’s Memberships page is also currently marked “Coming soon,” so studios needing renewing plans should compare a live recurring-membership solution separately.
Three Pilates businesses, three shortlists
A single studio selling group packs: compare Gomry, Momence and TeamUp against the actual class offer. In the demonstration, buy a pack, book two different eligible sessions and cancel one under the studio’s policy.
A practitioner-led studio with substantial private teaching: include Acuity, Mindbody and Vagaro. Instructor availability and the private appointment record are core requirements, not optional additions to the class timetable.
A boutique brand with several locations: include Mariana Tek, Hapana and bsport. Ask who owns prices and permissions, whether local managers can change them, and how location reporting reaches headquarters. A customer-facing booking app alone cannot answer those management questions.
Cost and changeover
Request a quote using the same number of locations, instructors, customers and paid bookings. Include the app, payment processing, forms, marketing and staff modules actually required. If the offer includes several products, list their prices separately so the studio can see what happens when another instructor or location is added.
Before moving, reconcile remaining visits by customer and eligible session type. Preserve future bookings independently from unused credit. Keep private appointment times, room commitments and recurring renewal dates in their own records. A successful import of customer contacts does not prove the teaching schedule has been transferred.
Pilates booking questions
Can a pack cover mat and reformer classes?
A Gomry Bundle can cover selected Experiences through a shared balance. Include only the activities the studio intends that purchase to cover. This does not imply variable credit costs or private-session eligibility beyond the configured offer.
Does a class limit reserve a specific reformer?
A capacity limit describes how many places can be booked. Reserving a particular machine or coordinating it with another service is a separate resource requirement. Require evidence for that behavior.
Should every studio buy a multi-location platform?
Only if the management requirements justify it. An independent studio may prioritize packs, waiting lists and private appointments; a brand may also need headquarters permissions and standardized pricing.
